Karen & Alec chose La Petite Chapelle for their big day! It truly is a one-of-a-kind venue with original hardwood floors, stained glass windows and amazing natural light! Originally built in 1851, it's been updated with a modern, Scandinavian aesthetic. K+A went the more traditional route and decided to wait until the ceremony to see each other and was that ever emotional! They both read letters from each other in the morning which is a great alternative to a first look and such a great keepsake that you can look back on! Karen did choose to have first looks with her brother, bridal party, mother-in-law, and parents!

A Historic Chapel Wedding Venue in Ontario

Originally built in 1851, La Petite Chapelle has been thoughtfully restored into a modern wedding venue while preserving its most beautiful historic features.

From the original hardwood floors to the stunning stained glass windows and bright, airy interiors, the space creates a setting that feels both timeless and elevated.

Located in Innerkip, Ontario, just outside of Cambridge it offers a peaceful countryside setting while still being easily accessible for guests. It’s the kind of venue that doesn’t need much, the space itself already tells a story.

A morning full of meaning

Karen and Alec chose a more traditional approach to their wedding day and decided to wait until the ceremony to see each other — and it made that moment even more emotional.

One of my favourite parts of their day was how they chose to stay connected in the morning by reading letters from each other. It’s such a simple but meaningful alternative to a first look, and something you can hold onto long after the wedding day is over.

Karen also shared first look moments with her brother, bridal party, mother-in-law, and parents — each one filled with genuine reactions and emotion.

Portraits at Stone Brooke Farms

After the ceremony, we headed to the beautiful Stone Brooke Farms for Karen & Alec's couple portraits, family and wedding party photos.

This location added a completely different feel to the gallery, open space, natural textures, and a softer countryside backdrop that complemented the elegance of the chapel perfectly.

It’s always nice to have that contrast: something structured and architectural paired with something more organic and open.

Reception at La Petite Chapelle

One of the best parts about La Petite Chapelle is that everything can happen in one place from ceremony to reception, making the entire day feel seamless and relaxed.

The transition from ceremony to celebration felt effortless, and the energy in the room carried through the entire evening.

One of my favourite reception moments was when Karen & her Grandpa surprised all the guests with a special dance and it's safe to say there wasn't a dry eye in the room!

This entire day was so beautifully put together and I'm so grateful they chose me to capture these memories for them!

Why La Petite Chapelle is Perfect for Wedding Photography

There’s a reason this venue stands out so much:

  • Historic chapel with modern design

  • Stunning natural light throughout the day

  • Unique architectural features like stained glass and woodwork

  • On-site ceremony and reception flow

  • Intimate, emotional atmosphere

It’s one of those venues that naturally enhances every photo without needing much added to it.
